"Ode to... I don't know" or A Little More About Me

So here I am, wondering what more I can possibly tell you all, that you may or may not need or want to know.

I think the things that make a person who they are, stem a lot from their trials and tribulations from growing up. As a child, I was brought up to be rather independent and self sufficient. My mother was that way, so she tried her damndest to teach me the same ways of life.

As I grew older (and wiser, I would like to think), I came to realize that being independent isn't always a good thing. When I met my better half, things were awkward at first, since I knew that there wasn't anything he could do for me that I couldn't do for myself. Well, now I know better. I think that he is the best thing that ever happened to me. He has taught me more about selflessness and giving than any other person in my life. I love him for that.

Anyway, this is just a small post, of many more to come about who I really am. There are many facets to this jewel and I hope I get a chance to share them all with you, kind reader.

Take care and be well.

I've always been an "I can do it myelf" kind of person too, never asking anyone for help. Just recently, it's been brought home to me just how important other people are in my life, and how much I need them. A rather humbling lesson, but one I needed.

Great to have you out here. I think these blogs are much more personal and we really value having each other in the wilderness, a bit more grown up than the all night frat party we left behind.

Thank you for the link to my blog.

I agree with mi...I've already noticed that people are more open here than at the other place.

Better atmosphere.

Now I can learn things about all my favorite people and not have to worry about being thought a troll fishing for info.

mi3 said all-night frat party, over there. that made me laugh.

I mean, she couldn't have meant me!?

I do look forward to some personal selflessness again some day. It's ambrosia for the soul, isn't it?
